Questions & Answers

Is this a genuine original part?

This is a genuine Blue Gee professional product. Blue Gee is a leading UK manufacturer of high-performance marine maintenance and repair chemicals.

How do I know if it is compatible?

This kit is compatible with all standard chopped strand mats (CSM) and glass fibre cloths. It is designed for polyester systems and should not be used for repairs on epoxy resin hulls unless specifically overcoating with a compatible tie-coat.

What is the correct mixing ratio for the catalyst?

For standard temperatures (15-20°C), a 1% to 2% ratio is ideal. This equates to roughly 10ml to 20ml of MEKP catalyst per 1kg of resin. Never use less than 1% or more than 3%, as it will affect the structural integrity of the cure.

Safety Note: MEKP Catalyst is a strong oxidizer. Always wear protective gloves and eye protection when mixing. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
